Taiwan-based makers shipped 10.235 million LCD TVs on ODM, OEM or OBM (own brand manufacturing) worldwide during the fourth quarter of 2015, increasing 12.0% on quarter but decreasing 5.8% on year, according to Digitimes Research.
ODM and OEM together accounted for 69.5% of the shipments and OBM for 30.5%, Digitimes Research indicated.
Among regional markets, North America accounted for 47.5% of the shipments, Asia for 28.2%, Europe for 20.3% and others for 4.0%. In terms of screen size, 50-inch and above models accounted for 24.9% of the shipments, 46- to 49-inch ones for 7.4%, 40/43-inch ones for 24.8%, 39-inch ones for 2.0%, 32-inch ones for 29.5% and below 30-inch ones for 11.4%.
TPV Technology was the largest maker accounting for 54.7% of the shipments, followed by Foxconn Electronics with 24.0%, Amtran Technology with 7.1%, Wistron with 6.4% and Compal Electronics with 5.1%.
Shipments for the whole year of 2015 stood at 34.811 million units, slipping 3.8% on year, and there will be an estimated 7.73 million units shipped in the first quarter of 2016, declining 24.5% on quarter.
